Sushi Tei!

Went by to Sushi Tei at VivoCity the other day to catch up with a couple of teachers the other day.
You know la, those gather together share about how we deal with the kids how are we coping after we left NIE and stuff. πŸ™‚
It was good. πŸ™‚
So many things in the wind are changing and we really see the hand of God moving. πŸ™‚

Portobello Mushroom.
My friends thought they were potatos at first glance. πŸ˜€


I like their prawn fritters. Its not like those skinny skinny shrimp, they are very solid and fresh. The prawn itself is not like crunchy bcos of being soaked in salt water.
I feel its true tangible solid prawn meat. *sLuRp!
Sad to say its the most exp of the 3 sides though. πŸ™‚

They have new flowers by the way. πŸ˜€

oh and they are featured on Business Times and 8 Days so far~

Baked Potato

I Love Baked Potato πŸ™‚

Wanted to go down to Kichn to have the Chicken Ham and Cheese Roll but thought the timing would be tight and there’ll be things I wouldnt be able to do.

πŸ™‚
So heres to share~

Theres plenty of Baked Potato recipe online, Β so do what you can with what you have. Following recipe is boring sometimes.

Was thinking about the “sauce” hmm…
I never like plain mayo, so I asked on twitter for recommendation, and the Dirty Stall mention butter…

Hmm…

I like them cheesy πŸ™‚ I like strong taste. But I know I dont wanna spend Cos I wont be using them any time soon… so… not gonna get cheese spread.

I decided on buying mayo alone.
Like it has always been, I play around according to intuition.

Lets begin~

I use to think normal potatos (like those used for normal chinese cooking) are oki,
but I came to the understanding that no, we need to get those white meat kind. So I used Australian Baby Potato.
Poke them through and through with a fork, that way, they’ll bake real well.

Then glaze them and salt them a little.

350 f and dump them in for 1hour.
Yes, 1 hour… *Oh The Electricity Bill!!!
Thats why I baked so many at one time. πŸ˜‰

Hey Hey, now the “sauce”

I know, it doesnt look that fantastic.
But come on, show me a mayo that looks good…


Thats whats inside.
Cheese, Onion, Honey Baked Ham and Raisin.

Cheese, thats what I want.

Onion, it brings in the sweetness. (use medium sized onion)
FYI: small onions smell great after deep frying, medium and big ones taste sweet.
Dont put in too much Onion, cos if its too much, it wont be sweet anymore, it’ll literally be ONION.

Honey Baked Ham, πŸ˜€ no bacon, so I used ham. πŸ™‚

Raisin, πŸ˜€ happen to see them in the fridge. Its the same idea, the hint of sweetness.

One hour later: *Ding!

A short short while later: *Ding!

Pss… if u want your greens to look gorgeous after boiled, give them a dash of cold water or tap water. πŸ™‚
It’ll help retain the color and probably the vitamins too. πŸ™‚

and that makes a very Happy Ms Ng. πŸ™‚

B&J – A Cookie Affair

Went to get Ben & Jerry from the nearby SPC recently,
2 tubs at $22.40


Bought my usual New York Chunk and tot of trying the new A Cookie Affair, ate a little that night and hand over it to my mom.

Normally, within about 5 to 7mins, my mom would call out to me to send it to the fridge,

but that night, it didnt happen that way. πŸ˜€
About 15mins into it, I shout out from my room, “Mom, are you done?”
She replied, “Why lei?”

πŸ˜€

I walked over with the cover and then sent it to the fridge. It was about only half left…

I was O_O … I ate at most 1/7 of it… n it is now 1/2 ...

then the next day, in the night, reach home around 11pm+
only 1/7 is left…

so… my mom finish almost 2/3 of it in 2 nights…

not that my mom loves to eat ice-cream.
But I think it has its appeal.

Vanilla Ice Cream as a whole, which is not too sweet, with Chocolate Chip cookie – the normal brown color with black spots kind.
and chocolate chocolate chip – the black color cookie with black spots kind.

so when u scoop, u get the vanilla, the brown cookie, the black cookie
n chocolate swirl as well.
(like u know raspberry ripple ice-cream the kind of swirl)

Aiya, say so much, u go n buy and try. not the lick lick kind. but literally scoop and chew kind.*sHiOk!

Yup, mummy says to buy a tub for her next time. πŸ˜€

Sakura Family Restaurant

Went for lunch with a few friends the other day, through the suggestion of @calvintimo

Went to Sakura Family Restaurant near Raffles City.
It was a… Thai, Chinese restaurant that incidentally had Wonder Girl’s Nobody on loop. πŸ˜€ *oki, with a FEW other songs in between.

It was oki πŸ™‚

I had Vegetable and Seafood soup cos of the sore throat so didnt dare to experiment too much. πŸ˜€


This is their Pineapple rice which @sidneyreuben loves the floss

HongKong Horfun which @mhisham loved the gravy

and their… thai fried rice…

hmm… πŸ˜€
Food for thought really. πŸ˜€

and I went for KFC Egg Tart after that. πŸ˜€

I’m not really an egg tart lover, and I dont really eat eggs, so…
Anyway, I do think that it has to be eaten warm or it’ll fall flat.

Most of the dish were spicy, I dont really eat spicy stuff, so cant really comment πŸ™‚

The next time u go by for any Expo Sale, do go by~ Its in-front of Hall 4 πŸ™‚
